Obad Hai, Halifax, Nova Scotia's latest Metal outfit, has landed.

Obad Hai, consisting of guitarist Taber Crosby, bassist Aiden Blanchard, and drummer Jaad Stewart, have crafted a sonic tapestry that transcends genres with their debut album.

The album is a lush journey that bends conventional boundaries, seamlessly blending intricate musicianship, profound storytelling, and captivating creativity. From the tranquil-to-explosive introduction of "A Barren Clicking of Gears" through to the auditory odyssey of "The River Styx", Obad Hai showcases a remarkable command over their craft.

Stewart's drumming prowess, coupled with the intricate guitar work of Crosby, elevates each track to a celestial level, while Blanchard weaves groove and heart with his bass. A shared output of vocals from all three resonate with emotional depth that seamlessly intertwine with the musical landscapes of each track. Though the album nods to many metal sub-genres, the progressive nature is evident in its dynamic shifts, intricate time signatures and skillful instrumentation, creating an immersive listening adventure. Each track is a testament to their unique sound, and are carefully crafted in such a way to draw todays playlist enthusiasts into an ethereal, full album experience.

Not only have the trio written this captivating soundscape - they produced it as well. With Crosby as Audio Engineer, and co-producing the album with Stewart, they focused heavily on live recording instrumentation, limiting reliance on today's digital methods. Crosby is also responsible for the mixing and mastering of this DIY Debut. What looks and sounds like the efforts of a full blown team of label executives, engineers, producers, marketing and designers, was pulled off by a very small team of mates who clearly have a sensible vision of a shared target.

The album not only solidifies Obad Hai's warm welcome into the progressive metal genre but also serves as a timeless testament to their musical ingenuity. The album is a mesmerizing blend of technical prowess, emotional depth, and sheer sonic innovation that will captivate audiences, leaving an indelible mark on the landscape of the east coast metal scene.
